Sarah W. Poston

Ms. Poston’s practice focuses on representation of financial institutions.  She advises on regulatory, compliance and governance matters, and has defended clients in individual and class litigation involving claims under federal and state statutory and common law.  She has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters including employment, civil rights and common law claims.

Biography

Before joining Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC, Ms. Poston clerked for United States District Judges in the Western District of Michigan (1993-1994) and the District of Connecticut (1997-1998), and engaged in litigation and trial practice in Cincinnati, Ohio and Bridgeport, Connecticut.  At New York University School of Law, she was on the editorial staff of the Annual Survey of American Law and published Developments in Federal Disability Discrimination Law:  An Emerging Resolution to the Section 504 Damages Issue, Annual Survey of American Law 1992/1993 Vol., Issue 3.

Representative Recent Engagements

  • Provide strategic regulatory and compliance advice in connection with bank’s consumer products and services
  • Advise bank in connection with regulatory examinations
  • Prepare policies and procedures to assist bank in compliance with consumer protection law and regulation including the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and Regulation E, Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, the E-SIGN Act, Truth in Savings Act and Regulation DD, the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act and Regulation P
  • Represent bank in consumer protection class litigation
