Eric Underwood focuses his practice on banking and commercial finance services, general corporate and transactional matters, and government contracts and relations. His extensive experience and achievements in these areas earned him recognition as one of Super Lawyers Magazine’s “Rising Stars” in business and corporate law.
Mr. Underwood joined FD Law in 2022, and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas as of May of 2024. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Underwood was an associate at Hall, Estill, Hardwick, Gable, Golden & Nelson, P.C., where he assisted clients with various business transactional matters and civil litigation involving complex business disputes. Prior to that, he acquired exposure to similar matters as an associate at Barrow & Grimm, P.C. Mr. Underwood enjoys the challenges inherent in helping clients navigate the legal intricacies of today’s commercial environment.
Mr. Underwood served as a contracting officer in the United States Air Force for nearly seven years before he decided to become an attorney. In that capacity, Mr. Underwood planned, solicited, negotiated, awarded, and administered several contracts ranging in scope from base operational requirements to weapon system sustainment.
While in law school, Mr. Underwood served as an Articles Research Editor for the Tulsa Law Review and authored Tackling Meritless Bid Protests: The Case for Rebalancing Protest Costs in the Federal Procurement Arena, 52 Tulsa L. Rev. 367 (2017).
