Primary Areas of Practice

Environmental Law

Our Environmental Law practice focuses primarily on helping businesses in a variety of fields minimize their environmental liability and maintain compliance with a range of regulations. On one side of the practice, we advise financial institutions regarding the environmental risks sometimes associated with loans and various financing transactions. Because loan workouts and foreclosures can cause Superfund or other environmental liability for lenders, we also represent our clients during these proceedings and render advice to minimize potential liability.

On another side of our Environmental practice, our firm also assists oil and gas companies in reaching and maintaining compliance with the regulations of both state and federal environmental agencies. By advising our clients regarding regulatory compliance analyses and environmental audits, we seek to avoid both administrative actions from governmental bodies as well as civil claims. When claims do arise, we defend our clients through negotiations with relevant regulatory agencies and, when necessary, through litigation.
