Mr. Eigenbrodt has over 30 years of broad-based experience both in-house as a chief legal officer and as an outside counsel in securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance and risk management matters.
Mr. Eigenbrodt spent over 16 years as the Chief Legal Officer of Behringer, a sponsor of public and private real estate and real-estate related funds, including publicly registered non-listed real estate investment trusts, interval funds, and closed end funds. Behringer, together with its affiliates, has raised equity of more than $6 billion for its various sponsored public and private investment products.
During his time at Behringer Mr. Eigenbrodt also served as the Chief Legal Officer of Behringer’s broker dealer and as Chief Compliance Officer of Behringer’s registered investment adviser. While at Behringer, Mr. Eigenbrodt was a member of the executive committee responsible for strategic planning and investment product development, and was also responsible for all legal, compliance and risk management matters.
Prior to joining Behringer, Mr. Eigenbrodt practiced general corporate, mergers and acquisitions and securities law at Glast Phillips & Murray in Dallas, Texas, and at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in both its Dallas and Washington, D.C. offices. Mr. Eigenbrodt also served as the general counsel of an NYSE listed and subsequently foreign-owned equipment rental company in Houston, Texas that at the time had over 150 stores in 29 states.
