Jared M. Burden

Jared’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has litigated a variety of legal issues as both plaintiff and defense counsel, including securities fraud, oil and gas disputes, manufacturers’ product liability, landlord and tenant disputes, corporate dissolutions, and general business litigation. Over the course of his career he has represented banks, broker dealers, individuals, and companies in a broad range of sectors including healthcare, oil and gas production, midstream energy, manufacturing, transportation, hospitality  and logistics. 

Biography

As part of his regulatory practice, Jared has advised clients on records management, health and safety issues, emergency management responses, operational compliance, zoning, and civil investigations, providing compliance guidance under both federal and state regulations for pipelines, oil and gas production, and healthcare companies.

 

Jared’s achievements earned inclusion in Super Lawyers’ list of “Oklahoma Rising Stars,” which recognizes the Oklahoma’s top up-and-coming attorneys.

Representative Recent Engagements

  • Obtained 7 figure settlement in bad faith case on a bank fidelity bond.
  • Obtained dismissal of majority of claims in purported class action against municipal bond trustee, leading to ultimate dismissal of the case for a nominal settlement.
  • Obtained summary judgment on liability against foreign company for breach of its guarantee to plug and abandon oil and gas wells in Alaska.
  • Obtained defense verdict and attorneys’ fee award in $19 million securities arbitration.
