Dennis E. Bires

Dennis Bires is a tax lawyer whose expertise extends to Estate Planning and Business Planning. As a professor at The University of Tulsa College of Law for more than two decades, Mr. Bires taught and published in the fields of Federal Income Tax, Estate and Gift Tax, Securities Regulation, and Estate Planning. Among his colleagues at Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC, are distinguished alumni of his law school courses. Prior to his academic career, Mr. Bires engaged in the private practice of law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and served as Tax Analyst in the Trust Department at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City.

Mr. Bires chairs the Board of Directors of the Woody Guthrie Center, a Tulsa museum and archive preserving the works of the influential folk singer.  He and his wife Marian are active in the Docent Program at The Nature Conservancy's Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Osage County, Oklahoma, a program he directed for many years. 

A member of the Pennsylvania Bar, Mr. Bires received both his J.D. and the LL.M. Degree in Taxation at New York University School of Law, where he was a published law journal editor.
